Weld Behind #3

Weld a patch into the pocket behind the #3 cylinder to prevent this area from cracking.
$225.00

The pocket cast into the base behind the number 3 cylinder is too thin and tends to crack, especially in larger horsepower motors.  Some shops lay down bead after bead of magnesium to fill the pocket from the bottom up.  At Vintage Volks, we make a patch out of the floor or roof of a junk AS41 case to add strength to that pocket.  By using a piece of a junk case, we ensure the magnesium alloy is the same between the patch and your case.  This ensures the patch will last for the lifetime of the case as well as minimize any warping from excessive heat.

Notes:
Even when using a patch like this, a line bore is occasionally required after performing this modification.
The customer is responsible for shipping the case both directions.
